Business News In Fairfield & Vacaville

FAIRFIELD NEWS:

Central Fairfield Restaurants:
• Great prices at Baldo's on West Texas Street.  24 hour dining with drive through window. People prefer to skip the fast food chain style.
• Downtown even has a new vegan restaurant, plus Thai and more interesting food options.

Highway 12 Napa Solano Connector Coming Along:
Many changes are coming over the past half-year. Construction workers for the Highway 12 Napa Solano Connector cut back hills rocks and more.  They put up massively strong retaining walls. Passersby on the old narrow Highway 12 Napa Solano Connector can already see how the widened Highway 12 Napa Solano Connector will look.

Highway 12 Solano Economic Impact:
This blog newspaper's studies on the Highway 12 Solano Economic Impact show positive changes.  Solano and the smaller populated Napa County will become more integrated. Examples include:
• Fairfield restaurants will have to boost the quality of their food to stay competitive with Napa dining. Places like OxBow in Napa offer great affordable dining options that Solano residents say beats Solano dining options. Fewer people will travel to Vacaville for food when downtown Napa is just a few minutes more driving time.  Current driving time from central Fairfield (West Texas Street) to downtown Napa might be 25 minutes during normal traffic.
• Salaries: Fairfield's very low salaries might get a bit a positive push. Napa salaries are higher. Many don't want the commute time and gas costs.  But the highway will help lessen the salary differences by perhaps on average five to fifteen cents an hour in 2013.
